This website has been designed to keep residents of the Hunter and Central Coast regions of NSW informed of problem weeds in the region and how to deal with them.
We also invite you to make contact with the weeds officers at your local Council, who will be happy to discuss any questions you have. Visit the Contacts page for the phone number or email of the relevant officer for your area.
Mother of Millions is the HCCW's featured weed this month.
A slender, erect, perennial succulent with pinkish-brown to grey mottled stems to 60cm high with tubular, bell-shaped, red to orange flowers which appear from May to October.
It is highly toxic to stock and is readily spread by plant fragments and seed. Its succulent nature allows it to adapt to dry conditions and it can rapidly invade bushland and disturbed sites.
